🌟 Member Spotlight: RI School Recycling Project 🌟

We are pleased to highlight member organization,Open fArms Retreat, a small teaching farm in northern Rhode Island. The Retreat offers a calm, nature-based space for learning, reflection, and community connection. Alongside its educational programs, the farm grows food and medicinal herbs and has partnered with Southside Community Land Trust to share fresh produce with residents in Woonsocket and Providence.

This spring, Open fArms Retreat continues its commitment to accessible environmental education with a series of free, hands-on workshops in Woonsocket. Community members can join a Mushroom Inoculation workshop on April 18 (bring a log home to grow your own mushrooms!), explore Raised Bed and Container Gardening on May 31, and learn Composting practices on June 13— all running from 10 AM to 1 PM. Held at The Orchard next to 103 Olo St in Woonsocket, these workshops invite participants to build practical skills while deepening their relationship with the land. Whether you’re new to gardening or looking to expand your knowledge, these gatherings reflect the Retreat’s mission to cultivate both ecological awareness and community resilience.

Registration is required. RSVP HERE
