Q&A
What’s your favorite outdoor place in Rhode Island, and why?
I love the William O’Neill bike path. You can see so many animals and start from all different places. I enjoy that you can cut off the path and visit the farm animals at URI.
How did you get involved in the environmental field?
My mom has always been very environmentally conscience and that was passed along to me.
What’s your favorite environmental fact to share?
Even the more aggressive species of sharks can be put into “tonic immobility” through an appropriate bumping of their snout or by turning them on their back. It is a state similar to hypnosis.
Why did you become a RIEEA board member?
I became a RIEEA Board Member because after moving to RI, I wanted to become involved in my new community. Being raised in a home where the environment was very important to my parents, an environmental organization made the most sense to me.
What are you most looking forward to in serving on the RIEEA board?
I am looking forward to working with like minded people to help our environment.
Anything else you want us to include in your profile?
I am going to be working towards a biology degree starting this summer.
