RIEEA is thrilled to introduce the featured presenters for our Rhode Island Youth Climate Conference happening Saturday, November 7, at Roger Williams Park Zoo’s new Conservation Education Center!

Designed for youth ages 14–18, this all-day event invites participants to explore the science of climate change, build leadership skills, connect with like-minded peers, and gain resources as they take the first steps toward creating real, local change in their communities.

Registration is open now until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 and can be found online at www.rieea.org/programs/youth-leadership. Youth will attend in teams of 3-6, accompanied by an adult mentor. Throughout the day, participants will engage in hands-on climate science activities, skill-building workshops, and interactive sessions led by experienced young professionals in environmental education, advocacy, and the arts.

Each team will begin crafting a Climate Action Plan tailored to their community’s needs, and after the conference, they’ll have the opportunity to apply for funding and support to bring their ideas to life.

“This experience gives young people the opportunity to turn their ideas and concerns into action,” said Jeanine Silversmith, RIEEA Executive Director. “Whether they’re already engaged in climate issues or simply want to learn more, they’ll build leadership skills, connect with peers, and become part of a statewide community of young people working for change.”

The event is free to attend, but space is limited. Educators, youth organizations, and community leaders are encouraged to bring a team and help spread the word.
