Please welcome RIEEA’s new Program Manager, Lizz Malloy!
Lizz (she/they) grew up in the marshes and cranberry bogs of Southeastern Massachusetts, and later moved to Rhode Island to complete her bachelor’s degree in environmental journalism at the University of Rhode Island. After her time at URI, Lizz spent the next six years working in public radio, local land trusts and environmental coalitions, farming and food justice organizing, and EJ-focused youth programming; all within southeastern New England. In 2023, Lizz was awarded RIEEA’s Environmental Educator of the Year and began her masters degree in environmental justice at the University of Michigan, focusing on interpersonal dynamics in environmental movement spaces, and upon graduation was eager to incorporate her new skills and knowledge at work in her community in Rhode Island. In all life aspects, Lizz is passionate about working at the intersections of environmental justice, and is excited to bring that passion back to the ocean state!
Starting in August, RIEEA will be the new home of the Rhode Island Envirothon and Lizz will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of this program.
