🌟 RIEEA Member Spotlight: Farm and Forest Education Center 🌟
RIEEA is excited to highlight the Farm and Forest Education Center (FFEC), a non-profit organization dedicated to creating immersive outdoor experiences that connect children and families to sustainable farming, nature, and the land around them. Their mission is rooted in helping future generations lead balanced, healthy lives by fostering meaningful relationships with the environment and the living things that share it.
Registration is now open for one of FFEC’s most popular programs is Little Acorns, an engaging drop-off program designed to give young children a hands-on introduction to life on a working farm. Led by certified Rhode Island educators, Little Acorns invites children to spend their days immersed in nature. Rain or shine, participants enjoy forest walks, explore the garden, visit the cows, and take part in creative activities and treasure hunts in the woods. Each experience is thoughtfully designed to support children’s development, helping them build social skills, strengthen both gross and fine motor skills, and grow their confidence as they explore the outdoors.
For families looking for a meaningful outdoor learning experience, there are still openings available in the Little Acorns program. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to explore, learn, and grow while spending time on a working farm.
Spring sessions begin March 20, 2026. https://farmforesteducation.org
