🌟 Member Spotlight: Aquidneck Community Table 🌟
Aquidneck Community Table (ACT) is a member of RIEEA, contributing to a collaborative network dedicated to advancing environmental education. As the only organization on Aquidneck Island dedicated to comprehensive food-system transformation, ACT has spent over 15 years ensuring everyone has access to healthy, culturally appropriate food—and the opportunity to grow it.
This month, ACT is expanding its popular Food Explorers program through a new partnership with Thompson Middle School in Newport. The program brings hands-on garden education and STEM learning to students in the school’s Life Skills Program.
Through inclusive, sensory-friendly lessons, students explore how healthy soils grow healthy food while building confidence and practical skills. ACT’s work connects environmental science, food systems, and community.
