February virtual lunch and learn 2026

Join us on Thursday, February 19, at 12:00pm for a Virtual Lunch & Learn: Raising Youth Awareness on the Benefits of Composting. Our guest will be Kaylie Hanisak, a masters student at Brown University studying Urban Education Policy and intern with the Rhode Island Food Policy Council (RIFPC), who will be sharing the new, free lesson she’s developing for RIFPC Tod to help youth celebrate International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW). The lesson includes an interactive activity, educational presentation, and a civic engagement opportunity for students that can serve as an excellent supplement to your existing environmental, science, and civics programs and coursework. During ICAW in May, the RIFPC will deliver student responses to RI legislators to raise awareness around the importance of composting and environmental education.

Please note our Virtual Lunch & Learns alternate between open/office hours andmore traditional educational programming.
