Annual Summit

Each year, RIEEA hosts a Summit to bring together engaged communities throughout the state and from across various sectors. Nonformal educators, classroom teachers, university/college faculty and staff, students, environmental justice advocates, as well as representatives in the health, business, agricultural, and science fields, meet to build networks, gather resources, share best practices, and cultivate leadership skills for widespread environmental literacy adoption and implementation.

Our program is usually held on a Saturday morning in February at Rhode Island College and includes a keynote presentation, small group discussions, RIEEA’s annual business meeting, networking opportunities, presentation of our EE Awards, raffles, and a full hot breakfast. Registration includes a RIEEA membership  for the year.

The 2022 Summit, Trees for the People: Environmental Justice for Rhode Island’s Frontline Communities, was a wonderful morning of learning and networking. Stay tuned for information about next year’s event!
